This work was inspired by a sabbatical I took to Australia where I studied the Aboriginal Walkabout, a coming-of-age ritual located in the landscape. Inspired, I wanted to make a landscape welcoming my daughter to the world. Composed entirely of cast sand, the most basic of elements, it presented the point of view of a newborn, seeing the world as funny/scary, and without differentiation.  You can find the mother present as "feeder" and "protector".
